STRATOS Direct Air Capture Facility Earns AAApre Rating from BeZero Carbon

STRATOS Updates | 09.15.2025

1PointFive announced that STRATOS has received a AAApre rating with low execution risk from BeZero Carbon, a leading carbon ratings agency, underscoring the high integrity of its carbon dioxide removal (CDR) credits.

AAApre represents BeZero’s assessment that a carbon credit from STRATOS is in the category of credits that has the highest likelihood of achieving a tonne of CO2 removed once the facility begins capturing and storing CO2.

“Independent ratings play a vital role in advancing the CDR market and provide confidence for how DAC technology can help organizations achieve their sustainability goals in a measurable and verifiable way,” said William Barrett, Vice President of Product Development. “The AAApre rating for STRATOS recognizes the durability of our credits in delivering high integrity carbon removal.”

As a subsidiary of Occidental, 1PointFive is leveraging more than 50 years of carbon management expertise and major projects experience to deliver commercial-scale DAC.

STRATOS is on track for 2025 start-up and will be the largest DAC facility in the world once it is fully operational.
