As part of our continued commitment to investing in local communities, 1PointFive is honored to support the Wilkerson Boys & Girls Club (Odessa, TX) in opening a new STEAM Lab, a space dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation and problem-solving. The lab will serve as a hub for hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM), equipping students with the tools they need to explore new skills and academic interests. This project marks the second 1PointFive-backed STEAM Lab launched across Texas and the first to open this year.
The state-of-the-art lab features cutting-edge equipment, including a Cricut machine, embroidery machine, and 3D printers—allowing students to bring their ideas to life. Bailey Gonzalez, the Boys & Girls Club’s Unit Director, touted the lab’s potential to encourage new areas of interest, saying: “I want the kids to come in here and discover who they are, discover what they're good at, have access to things that I never even had when I was a kid, and most adults don't even have access to.”

The grand opening drew strong community support, with City Councilman At-Large Craig Stoker and Odessa Fire Rescue joining the celebration.
Trey Fournier, Director of DAC Development at 1PointFive, highlighted the importance of STEAM education, stating: “I’m a huge advocate for education and believe in encouraging kids to seek knowledge and innovation while giving them the opportunity, and space, to ask 'why' and 'how.' STEAM is vital, and art is a key component because it teaches the mind to think differently, to be creative in ways that one may not have thought of.”
At 1PointFive, we believe in creating a better tomorrow by championing initiatives that empower young minds. We’re proud to play a role in providing opportunities for future generations to learn, grow and dream big.
